Laurel began dancing at DanceVisions at the age of three, beginning with modern dance and later delving into contemporary, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop. She continued to dance at Occidental College, where she studied ballet under Francisco Martinez and pursued contemporary, jazz, and swing in Los Angeles. In addition to dancing and choreographing for the Occidental College Dance Production, Laurel performed frequently as a member of the Occidental College Glee Club and the Accidentals, a treble a cappella group. After college, Laurel returned to the Bay Area to pursue a degree in education and reunited with the dance community at DanceVisions. She began teaching contemporary dance in local studios in 2019 and is an active member of High Release, a modern dance cooperative company. Outside of the dance studio, Laurel works as a high school teacher.
